Now back in the US after three sold-out shows in London, two of which were supporting Angel Olsen, H.C. McEntire is premiering a new music video for Baby’s Got the Blues off her album Lionheart.
The Mount Moriah front woman’s debut solo record is inspired by the American South and an attempt to reclaim Country Music from the homogeneous schtick of flatbeds, drinking beer and chasing women. Her voice has been described as ‘weary, wise and bright as morning sunshine’ by Sterogum. McEntire collaborated with a host of her favorite musicians for the album. Including Kathleen Hanna, Angel Olsen, Amy Ray, Tift Merritt, William Tyler, Mary Lattermore and Phil Cook. While still remaining her authentic self throughout. Lionheart was recorded in the beginning of 2017 with additional recording and mixing throughout the year as she toured the world as part of Angel Olsen’s band.
H.C. McEntire will hit the road this summer with a full band, supporting the likes of S. Carey in July and Pedro the Lion in August before several shows at Americana fest in Nashville.
