Los Angeles Punkult rockers Death Valley Girls today announced their third studio album Darkness Rains along with the release of single Disaster (Is What We’re After). Released October 5th, Darkness Rains will be available on LP, CD, cassette and digital formats via Suicide Squeeze. Built around core members vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Bonnie Bloomgarden and guitarist Larry Schemel, Death Valley Girls blast out turbocharged, funhouse mondo rock in the spirit of The Cramps, The Stooges and Black Sabbath.

The video for Disaster (Is What We’re After) was directed by Kansas Bowling and shot on 16mm film. Featuring Iggy Pop recreating Andy Warhol’s infamous Andy Warhol Eating a Hamburger short film, the band say;

“We’re strong believers in optimism-mysticism and connecting people though Rock n’ Roll. When Kansas told us she had a dream about recreating the ‘Andy Warhol Eating a Hamburger’ short film but with Iggy starring for our music video, we were cautiously excited about the possibility. Next thing we know we’re in Miami with Iggy himself, and a rock n’ roll dream became reality!”

Darkness Rains is out October 5th on LP/CD/CS and digital. Both vinyl and cassette come with a digital download. However, the first vinyl pressing is limited to 1500. You can Pre-Order here.
