With the line ups for NYC’s Governor’s Ball and Indio’s Coachella announced, both festivals are well represented by the British music scene. The Governor’s Ball will feature Blood Orange, the Mercury nominated Jorja Smith and Miles Kane on Friday. Florence & The Machine and The 1975 on Saturday, with Lily Allen and Charlie XCX closing out the festival on Sunday.
As Coachella moves lurches further away from indie and further cements itself as a dance festival, the UK representation is a whole lot slimmer. However you can still catch the phenomenal Shame and Aphex Twin along with Blood Orange and the seemingly ever present Chvrches. Four Tet will also feature following his US Tour, Idris ‘Big Dris’ Elba will be hosting a DJ set, in demand producer Ross From Friends will also be present. SOPHIE will be making an appearance along with her sometime collaborators Let’s Eat Grandma and for those that like their music particularly bland, The 1975 will feature on Friday.
Hopefully that means some LA warm up gigs or an appearance during the week off!
